According to Bashari, the Taliban insurgents have organized 4171 attacks including armed raids, suicide attacks, roadside bombings and ambushes during the time. "There were alone 225 suicide attacks and 1824 roadside bombings and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attacks over the past one year," he said, adding the Afghan police also arrested 2, 958 suspected militants over the period. Nevertheless, the spokesman also said "more than 4,600 militants have also been killed over the past one year." "In the past one year, the number of civilian fatalities had been registered at over 2,100 while some 3,700 were wounded,"the official said.
